Social sector

The Volkart Foundation supports projects and initiatives in the fields of ecology, social issues, media, and documentary film. Through our commitment, we aim to contribute to the protection of the climate, soil, and ecosystems, promote equal opportunities and social participation for all, foster diverse and balanced media, and support documentary films related to these topics.
We follow a systemic program-based approach, focus on synergies, and work in an interdisciplinary manner to not only alleviate symptoms but also address the root causes of societal challenges.

Funding application for social sector
Due to its new strategy in the social sector, the Volkart Foundation is no longer accepting new applications. Instead, the foundation is focusing on working with existing partner organizations that concentrate on advocacy work in order to bring about systemic change.

We ask for your understanding that unsolicited funding applications will neither be reviewed nor answered.
