Ecology

In many places, the use of natural resources exceeds their ability to regenerate and has an influence on climate stability. Protecting natural resources, the climate and biodiversity takes top priority in order for future generations to also be able to live in an intact and healthy ecosystem.

We support initiatives that campaign to limit climate change, that strengthen climate resilience, drive forward species and soil protection, and promote sufficiency.

The Volkart Foundation attaches importance to systematic change so that the causes of societal challenges can be tackled sustainably. We promote ambitious and innovative projects, interdisciplinary ideas, and bold approaches. We also support pilot projects, provide operating subsidies, and promote organisational development. In order to achieve a major leverage effect, we look to cooperate with other foundations, raise awareness of initiatives, and actively contribute towards an exchange of knowledge.
