Social sector

In the social sector, the Volkart Foundation promotes strong social cohesion in Switzerland, based on equity in education and optimal inclusion in the labour market. Our funding therefore focuses on the access to education, to vocational training and the to the labour market for people who are disadvantaged or excluded due to their migration background and socio-economic circumstances.

The Volkart Foundation supports projects, programmes and initiatives that leverage synergies, tackle societal challenges in a sustainable way and strive for systemic change. We favour ambitious, innovative ideas, bold approaches and interdisciplinary approaches.

The Volkart Foundation supports pilot projects, awards operating grants, offers the «Projekte mit Wirkung» training as well as advice on advocacy, and promotes organisational development. In order to achieve high impact, we cooperate with other foundations, publicise initiatives and actively contribute to the exchange of knowledge.

What we do not support:

• Issues that do not directly fit in with the above-mentioned focus areas and the Volkart Foundation’s overall strategy
