Documentary film

The Volkart Foundation supports projects and initiatives in the fields of Ecology, the Social Sector, Media, and Documentary Film. With our commitment, we want to contribute to the protection of the climate, soil and ecosystems, enable equal opportunities and social inclusion for all, promote a balanced Media diversity and support Documentary Films related to these topics.

The Documentary Film funding area supports the development and production of documentary forms in film. Projects are funded that combine social relevance with formal innovation, address themes within the foundation’s focus areas—ecology, media diversity, visual literacy, and the social sector—and whose distribution is clearly situated within a cinematic context. Funding in the Documentary Film area is awarded based on applications.

Funding application for documentary film

You can apply for funding for your Documentary Film to the Volkart Foundation using the online application form. The applicant (incl. association, organisation, company) must be a resident or domiciled in Switzerland. It is sufficient if a co-producer fulfils this requirement.
